getting used to a new place

i heard it takes 21 days to get acclimated to a place. am i then going to soon get used to small town characters like keith mcdonald who looks like a japanese beetle, owns the local filling station, and recently had a party where someone poured gasoline down the center of the main road and set it a blaze? 5 foot flames. i sure hope not. keith makes lula smile.
i'm enjoying the small town characters... larry, who smokes the pig butts at woodlands bbq - the best bar in town and place of my first job at age 13 (making cole slaw not smoking butts), used to bring me roadside flowers in a schlitz can on his walk to work cause he's a drunk and can't drive. my brother saw him and his brother bodie at the laundromat, both shirtless (cause they're washing their shirts too), their flabby throwback hippie bellies glowing, toothlessly smiling and standing knee-deep in mud puddles visciously playing air guitar to cat scratch fever. i love seeing larry but hate it when he gets too close. larry kissed lula while she was sleeping on my shoulder and i'm afraid she'll come down with a skin disese.

i just bought a '91 volvo 940 and feel a bit too close to a soccer mom. the car runs excellent though! i couldn't find the old ford pickup with hound dog i really wanted.
i'm thinking of getting my real estate license, because i want ot make money fast and play with lula.
i have an aunt that won't hand lula back when she starts to cry. and i painted my mom's bathroom at hideous turquoise-supposed-to-be-robins-egg-blue (she picked it out) and will have to now primer it and paint the damn thing over.
lula loves to hang out here and she is rolling over and chatting nonstop.
no sign of lula's dada yet, except nick (my brother) saw him at a distance whereupon blake turned and walked the other way. let's hope he maintains his disillusioned escapist attitude!!
